There are multiple ways to install the Box Truck lock and have it secure the door. The important thing is to make sure the deadbolt strikes or engages in a way whereas it inhibits the door from opening. Since boxes will vary some customers have found the way in which the “S” bracket was intended to be installed works perfectly. Some have needed to shim the bracket with a small piece of plywood to push it away from the door so that the deadbolt enters the square opening. Others have attached the bracket to a hinge on the door as shown in the first photo and some have positioned the deadbolt to rest above the “S” bracket preventing the door from rising.
